Planning a Barcelona Hen Weekend?

If so, big congrats on your excellent taste! This cosmopolitan and cultural city by the sea is a fantastic choice for your hen party weekend. Bursting with amazing architecture by genius artist Antoni Gaudi, it's a city guaranteed to blow minds.

Today is Antoni Gaudi's 161st birthday. Check out today's Google doodle, it's a winner.

In honour of the artist's genius, we've put together a list of Gaudi's greatest hits, which you absolutely must see on your Barcelona hen weekend. Even the least culturally inclined hen will give them the thumbs up.

Sagrada Familia

This is the biggie; the maddest building in the whole of Barcelona! If you only make time to see one landmark during your hen weekend, make it Gaudi's unfinished basilica. Jaws will drop when the girls first see this towering neo-Gothic masterpiece, with its 18 towering spires, giant cross and intricate facades depicting Bible scenes.

Casa Mila (La Pedrera)

The winding rooftop of Gaudi's famous wavy multi-storey apartment block is surreal to say the least. Make your way along undulating staircases, checking out sculptures and tiled chimneys. Don't leave without looking at one of the apartments, which feature indoor gardens and trippy murals. You'll feel like you've just walked onto the set of a sic-fi movie.

Park Guell

This gorgeous garden boasts amazing views of Barcelona. Take time out of your Barcelona hen party for a relaxing stroll along the terrace. As you might expect, this is no ordinary garden. Discover modernist mosaics and a labyrinth of pillars, columns and pavilions. It's easy to spend an entire afternoon wandering open-mouthed around Park Guell.

Palau Guell

Combine a visit to Palau Guell with shopping along La Ramblas. Gaudi's breathtaking mansion is located just off Barcelona's main shopping street. Another show-stopper, it boast parabolic arches adorned with intricate designs and a sweeping roof terrace featuring a maze of 20 chimneys with brightly coloured tiles in ornate designs guaranteed to dazzle.
