How to Survive a Benidorm Hen Weekend

Benidorm Hen Weekends

Foam parties, beach bars, cheap booze, guaranteed sun and wild party games; no prizes for guessing why the Benidorm hen weekend is so popular! The clubbing capital of the Costa Blanca ain't for the faint hearted. If you've never been, prepare yourself! Think clubbing 'til sunrise, water pistol shots and baking hot days on the beach. Take Monday and Tuesday off work, you'll need a few days to recover!

Here's how to survive a Benidorm hen weekend and head home smiling instead of hanging!

Pack smart for your Benidorm hen party

Think about what you'll need to take carefully. Clothes are the easy bit. A pack of headache pills and some sachets of rehydration salts from the chemist will come in very handy! Even if you're a high heels kinda gal, pack a pair of flatties for all-night dancing. Facial wipes are a must as well, especially when you're getting back to the hotel at 6am and don't want to wake up with panda eyes.

Get a hotel or apartment with aircon

Or wake up sweaty with a throat drier than Levante beach. Aircon might cost a bit more but it's worth every Euro.

Take a break from the beach

Yeah, I know you want a killer tan but cocktails and direct sunlight at midday don't mix - even if you do drink water as well. The water park is open from 10am to 8pm in high season and is a great place to cool off when the temperatures peak. The Sea Life Park is also a winner and you'll get the chance to swim with Patagonian sea lions.

Eat something

No, it's not cheating! Even if you don't get very hungry in the heat, trying to survive a Benidorm hen weekend on fresh air and the odd bag of crisps is a bad move. A proper evening meal will set you up for a big hen night on the Square, and it's also a great chance to get the whole group together.

Go see a show

A great idea for a second night and it stops you getting totally muntered by 9pm because you hit the bars of Calle Gerona too early. Benidorm Palace is the biggie. If you're not easily shocked and you want to see a notoriously outrageous show on a Benidorm hen weekend, Sticky Vicky is the drag queen with the most-ess. Be warned: ping-pong balls are involved. There are also loads of really good tribute acts in the showbars, along with comedians, magicians, you name it, Benidorm has it.

Get return airport transfers sorted in advance

A must, particularly for the last day of your Benidorm hen weekend when you roll out of bed and realise it's time to make a dash for the airport. Do you really want to run for the airport bus in 30 degree heat? Hell no!
