Canoeing is great fun, and a brilliant way to get the girls out in the fresh air on your hen do. You won't have to mess around with hiking boots and maps, and you get to ogle hot instructors too. What's not to like?

This wet and wild activity takes place at a water sports centre close to Darley Abbey. Your hen party will be introduced to all the skills needed to navigate a canoe down the River Derwent-and you'll be tested on your newfound abilities in a series of games! Can you put your ruddering, reverse paddling and side-slipping skills into practice, and be crowned queen of the water?

Derby is the ideal spot for a hen who likes to get out and get wet. The water sports centre is just a short drive (less than 10 minutes in good traffic) from the city, so you can even combine a canoeing session with a spot of afternoon tea, a cocktail making lesson or a dance party! We recommend canoeing in the morning and doing something city-based in the afternoon, for a hen do that makes the most of everything Derby has to offer. Are you ready to get wet?
