The Bridesmaid Job List
We are not only here to help plan your perfect hen do, but we are here to offer advice when it comes to the wedding and making sure you as a bridesmaid have remembered the important jobs! Before, during and after the wedding there are so many jobs that the bridesmaids need to make sure they do rather than the bride worrying about them before the big day. This is your besties big day and one she wants to remember forever for being the most enjoyable day of her life. You can help to achieve this by remembering some of these important jobs:
Cake ideas and cake suppliers:
Help the bride out by doing some research into cake suppliers, get on Pinterest and make an album of cake ideas that you think she will love. This will help her to narrow down what cake she wants at her wedding, and then she hasn’t had to spend hours over it.
Flower ideas and flower supplier:
If you know our bride’s favourite colours or flower then get together some ideas of the flowers, go to a local florist and take some pictures or even grab some samples. This will make the flower decision easier for the bride to be. Check out a few local florists and ask for price lists and take that to the bride. This will be another time saver for the bride and save another stress for her to deal with.
Hair Style ideas and hairdresser ideas:
Your bride might already know exactly how she wants her hair but if she doesn’t then you need to help her. If she wants it up or down, get searching for the perfect do! She will really appreciate you helping her with her hair and even better if you can try the styles on her too! Don’t forget to send her bridesmaid options as well to help her choose what style works for you all, remember though it’s her big day so you may have to have a do that’s not perfect for you but is how the bride wants it. Get the girls round for all of the above and have a night chatting about options.
Make up ideas and Make up Artist ideas:
The bride will know whether she will want to do her own make-up or have someone do it for her. Either way you can help her by sending her some gorgeous make-up styles.
Bridesmaid dress ideas:
The fun part, it’s your time! Help the bride decide what dresses the tribe will be in. She may already have an idea, but you can help her by sending her different options or alternatives that she may not have thought about. Remember, it’s her day so don’t take over and make it about what you want.
Table plan ideas:
Gather the guest list and help the bride by organising the guests on their tables. She will need help when it comes to putting people on tables, the design of the table plan and the theme of the tables. You can send her options on different favours to go on the table as well.

Plan of the day
Make sure you go through the full plan of the day with your bride beforehand, knowing the running plan of the day means you can make sure it all goes just as the bride wants it. If there are any issues on the day it's up to you as bridesmaids to solve them and make sure the bride doesn’t even notice. Make sure you know the important parts to her so you can double check they are all perfect.
The night before & morning of
Make sure the bride tribe have somewhere nice and relaxed to stay the night before, getting a good night’s sleep is essential as you can’t have bags under your eyes on your wedding day! Get in a nice takeaway and a few drinks, so there is no stress and it’s just a nice, chilled evening getting excited for the big day. Remember not too many drinks and lots of water as you don’t want hangovers!
Have a good breakfast planned, as this will help calm any nerves and you may not eat until later in the day, so a good breakfast will for sure be needed. Help make space for everyone to get ready, time will go so fast, so getting ready early is always a good idea to stop any last minute stress. Also, as a bridesmaid make sure you are ready early and as quick as possible as if there are any issues on the morning you need to be the one to solve them, but you also need to be bridesmaid ready.
Most importantly you need to be there to keep the bride calm, get her ready and make sure she is happy and enjoying her day from start to finish.
Don’t forget nice pjs or comfy clothes to get ready in, as there will be getting ready pictures!
Guestbook & photos on the day:
This is an important job you need to make sure that everyone signs the guestbook and has a photo with the bride. She will treasure those memories forever. She will not be thinking or have the time to think about getting pictures with everybody or ensuring they sign the book.
Present and card collection:
Allocate a space on the day where you will be putting presents and cards. The bride does not want to be walking around with presents and cards to find where to put them. You will need to be there taking them out of her hands so she can focus on the day.
Next day clearing room, collecting flowers:
This is an important job; the bride should not be going back to where she got married to collect presents or clean the room. The last memory of where she celebrated her wedding needs to be of a room filled with the people, she loves partying and having fun.
Picture night to go through wedding pictures:
This is going to be very much needed, a catch up with the girls to reminisce on the wedding day and night. Go through pictures and presents and treasure every moment. The bride will love reminiscing on her amazing day and knowing how she had the most fabulous bride tribe.
Little extras
Don’t forgot if you have time you could decorate, the bridal suite, their car or house with just married banners.
