Hvar is famous for its Plavic Mali wines, made from a small blue grape that's actually half Zinfandel. The result is deep, ruby red, rich wines with deep flavours and heady aromas of cherries, blackberries and mixed spices. The grapes are ripened by endless hours of radiant sunshine, making them deliciously sweet but not sickly.

The island's centuries-old vineyards and olive groves are protected UNESCO World Heritage Sites so you know a wine tasting outing is going to be something both unforgettable and supremely special.
