If you thought orienteering was just for girl guides, think again! This brilliant outdoor activity will get you exploring the beautiful Hathersage and Castleton area of the Peak District. Add Sheffield Orienteering to your hen party shenanigans to get your girls out in the fresh air!

This is an old-school adventure! Issued with a map and compass, you'll be challenged to navigate to a series of way-stations before returning to base. No mapping apps, please, ladies...

Your route can be set according to your fitness levels and expectations. If you think the girls are going to be feeling the after-effects of a big night on West Street, go for a leisurely stroll through gorgeous wooded areas, stopping from time to time to mark off a waypoint. But if you're up for a challenge, let us know and we'll sort out a much tougher route, full of scrambling!

Action girls can even run their route. Bring appropriate gear, and be prepared to get wet and muddy. The object of the exercise is to make it back to your starting point in the quickest possible time, without missing any of the way-stations.

If you're looking for something that's both exhilarating and relaxing for your hen party, this is the answer. Whether you want a pleasant amble or a full-on dirt run, you'll get plenty of fresh air and see parts of the Peaks most tourists miss.
