Master the medieval sport of York Archery in the grounds of a fairytale castle, just outside the city centre, on your hen weekend. You couldn't dream of a better backdrop for a fabulous hen do. No one needs to be Katniss Everdeen to take part, you don't even have to be super fit. Hen party sessions are tailored for beginners. You'll learn the basics in a fun, relaxed and truly stunning countryside setting.

The instructors at the activity site will clue your hen party in on how archery came to be. You'll learn how to sort your longbows from your crossbows and get instructions on technique. Archery is a true test of skill, control and agility. Forget sweaty adrenaline-pumping activities. In this game, control and a cool head rule.

Professional instructors will be on hand to show you how to stand, grip the bow, position the string, prepare your shot and then draw, anchor, aim, loose and follow through, in one seamless movement.
