Worlds Weirdest and Most Expensive Spa Treatments

Fancy sharing your massage with a snake? How about bathing in beer on a spa weekend? If you're bored with the usual manis and pedis, check out the world's weirdest spa treatments!

If, however, you fancy something a bit different but not too wacky for your hen weekend, a day at a Turkish Baths will do the trick.

Snake Massage, Israel

Indiana Jones definitely wouldn't like it but Britney might! If you're into weird spa treatments, jet over to Israel, where you can get a therapeutic snake massage at a plant and lizard farm. Er, yay! Lie down and 'enjoy' the sensation of lots of little snakes slithering across your skin. Apparently it's supposed to be very relaxing and good for migraines. Or you could just stick to painkillers.

Deluxe Fish Pedicure, UK and Europe

Having little fish nibble away at your feet might sound strange but devotees say the deluxe fish pedicure is streets ahead of your classic foot treatment. Garra Rufa (Doctor) fish eat away the hard, dead skin on your toes and the soles of your feet, leaving them lovely, smooth and baby soft. It's a big favourite with hen parties on spa weekends.

Beer Bath, Czech Republic

The Czechs love their beer so much they actually bathe in it. Spend 20 minutes in a bath of specially brewed beer that's said to rejuvenate the skin and detox the organs. Even if it doesn't have the desired effect, you'll probably have legions of men falling at your feet!

$5,000 Mineral Water Bath, USA

Why make do with tap water when you could take a bath in 1,000 bottles of Evian? Only in Miami! It's a bit like when Kate Moss and Johnny Depp were together and famously took a bath in champagne...only less fizzy and not half as rock 'n roll. Only those rich enough to stay in the penthouse suite of a certain super swanky hotel in South Beach can do it. According to the Mail and Now magazine, Beyonce paid top dollar for a mother and daughter Evian bath during a recent stay.

Nightingale Poo Facial, Japan and New York

Yes, you did read that correctly! You can pay a pretty penny to have the poo of a nightingale applied to your face. And left there. This one probably wins the title of weirdest spa treatment of all time.

Diamond or Emerald Massage

Have your chakras rebalanced with precious gems and skin massaged with rare oils. One of the signature treatments at Trump hotels, the diamond or emerald massage starts at a cool $300. Bargain! Only the purest gems are used, which is kind of what you'd expect for that price.

Bull Semen Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment

One word: Eww! If you're having your hen do in Cheshire and fancy a spa weekend, you could have a deep conditioning hair treatment with actual bull semen. It's said to deeply penetrate hair follicles and leave your mane looking lustrous, thick and 'vivacious'. The semen is reportedly kept in the fridge so it doesn't smell...which clearly makes the whole thing completely natural and normal, right?

Salt Cave Therapy, Dubai, Chicago, London

Sit inside a natural salt cave for 45 minutes. That's it! These natural wonders are said to alleviate everything from insomnia and sinusitis to allergies and asthma. They've been such a big hit that man-made caves are popping up in more easily accessible hen do destinations like West London.
